Buying a house or a condominium?

There are many pros and cons in either purchase. However here we just point out a few of the most important considerations between either transaction.

Let’s look at the house first!

Detached with garden, so you have your own space.

However this has to be maintained so lawn cutting, yard cleaning, higher community costs have to be considered.

What if you have a pool home? Well then you have to pay for extra water, pool maintenance, higher power bills if you have a heater. Also your house will most possibly be larger than a condo so the Air conditioning costs will be higher and of course last but not least your property tax has to be calculated before you plunge into your purchase!

Now let’s look at the Condo.

Compact unit easy to maintain and no garden or yard maintenance. However not detached so you have less privacy. Condo’s are generally compact so the air conditioning costs are easy on the pocket. However beware check out community costs and management/maintenance as you are just one of a number of condo’s in the development and usually there are designated management fees for the community. Again do not forget the property tax?

Condos cost less then houses in most cases however they may not appreciate in value as much as houses. Condos like houses are all about location, location, location.
